QPTV Presents: Queens Centers For Progress - Making A Difference | Video
Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) provides services and support for several thousand people with developmental disabilities as well as their families and loved ones. QCP’s goal is to promote independence, community involvement, and quality of life for individuals ranging in age from infancy to 100 years old. There are 600 staff members who are focused on this goal, working from three major locations in Queens. Their firm belief is that all people should have the right to make choices about their lives, making progress toward greater independence and integration into the community.
QCP’s services include education, therapy, job training and placement, advocacy, service coordination, housing, and more to help people lead fuller lives. Tune in as Queens Public Television visits three of their locations and meets the staff who are providing the services and the individuals benefiting from them.
