Around Queens: 13th Annual Unicycle Fest

One of New York City’s quirkiest events, the NYC Unicycle Festival, presented by the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, will be rolling across New York City once again this Labor Day weekend. Taking place from September 1 – 4, the 13th annual event will see dozens of one-wheeled riders participate in free outdoor activities in this unique end-of-summer tradition. From Manhattan to the Bronx to Queens and Brooklyn, unicycles will be taking to the streets of four of the city’s boroughs as they turn heads and spread joy while they roll through town. The four-day event begins in Manhattan on September 1, then takes a massive 13-mile group ride over the Brooklyn Bridge to Coney Island on September 2. On September 3, UniFest hits Queens and features the legendary King Charles Unicycle Troupe before concluding on September 4 at Grant’s Tomb with the final gathering where the uninitiated who would like to try a unicycle can do so. The festival's main event is in Queens this year. Activities include a learn-to-ride area, basketball competition games featuring the King Charles Unicycle Troupe, demonstrations, workshops in Seven Gables Playground (210 St. & Oceania St.) and mountain unicycle rides on the Cunningham Park Mountain Cycle Path. of the City of New York.
